So, when you don’t know what to write about, you start looking at charts and statistics about your blog, which literally no one cares about but me. I call this the “time-suck”. For many people, the time-suck can be scrolling through your Facebook feed, seeing what the KUWTK are up to, or watching reruns of Three’s Company (yes, I do this every night when I go to bed!).
Well, as I was looking at the analytics of the traffic that comes to my blog, I noticed something…
One of my blog posts generates 59% more traffic than the 2nd most popular post on my website.
Now my blog generates thousands of visitors every week, so for one post to generate that much traffic vs. the other posts, I felt inclined to write about it. I know, you probably don’t really care, but in the event that you do care, you may want to check out my blog post that explains how to create your own blog.
This is where keyword volume and SEO comes in to play.
You see, you can’t just write a post and expect people to find it in the search engines if you have not properly optimized it for a particular keyword. Sure, my regular readers bounce around my blog and read different posts every day, but those that are coming to my blog because they did a search on Google are only coming because I have managed to put my website where they will find it… on page one of Google (this particular post ranks #1 for the main keyword).

So What is the Most Popular Blog Post You Ask?
It is a post I wrote about the Bare Minerals Matte Foundation. It is a popular post because it explains the difference between the Bare Minerals matte foundation and the Bare Minerals original foundation.
Because I have used both (and still do), I wrote a review on it, and obviously, people find it useful when shopping for foundation.
The reason this is fantastic is because I am ranking #1 above all other beauty bloggers and brands for a popular makeup product name. That is no small feat – I promise!
My Top 10 Most Popular Blog Posts of All Time
Since I’m sharing this information that is meaningless to my readers, I figured I’d go ahead and share the rest of the top blog posts. Below are the Top 10 9 Blog Posts of All Time on Be Electrifying. I have excluded #1 because… well because I have already bored you with that since the beginning of this post.
3. How to Use the Bare Minerals Starter Kit
4. The Bare Minerals Starter Kit Review
5. Crepe Erase Reviews (this is awesome because I just started reviewing Crepe Erase this year!)
6. My Home Smells Like Abercrombie & Fitch and I Love It
7. My Favorite Bare Minerals Bronzer is AWOL
8. Does Meaningful Beauty Glowing Serum Really Glow?
9. Dollar Rental is Scamming Me For a $300 Smoking Fee (and I quit smoking)
Why are these posts so popular?
That’s a great question. Some may thank that it’s because they are ranking at the top of page one on Google, and that answer is partially correct.
But there’s more to it than that. Just because someone who knows how to do search engine optimization manages to obtain a #1 ranking does not mean that they will keep it.
What I mean is that if the majority of visitors who click on one of those top posts do not find my content useful or engaging, they will leave before your ice cream melts in the desert.
That is an important metric because if people are leaving my blog as fast as they came, Google will punish me (for lack of a better term) and drop my rankings.
Luckily, I have a tendency to write my blog posts in a way that engages my readers while still providing the information that they came here looking for.
What Would You Like to Read About?
As you may know, I have been complaining of “writers block” for a while, and I’m not sure if it has anything to do with the loss of my father or what, but I have been struggling to create new blog posts (obviously right?).
If there is a product that you would for me to review, or anything else that you would like my thoughts on, please leave a comment below, and I will do my best to write a halfway decent post!
