Curology Review | Does It Get Rid of Redness and Clogged Pores

Curology Reviews

curology for clogged poresToday, I begin my Curology journey, and hopefully sooner rather than later, I will get the results that I’m after.

The majority of the Curology reviews I could find were for acne, and while I do not have perfect skin, I don’t really have “acne”.

That’s not to say that I did not suffer from it when I was younger, and it did leave me with some scarring, but I am now 45, so acne is no longer an issue.

Why am I Reviewing Curology?

I am determined to get rid of the redness and clogged pores that seem to be getting worse as I age.  With any luck, it will reduce the appearance of the scars as well.

I have always been faithful with my skincare routine, even when I was a teenager, so I guess I was just born with not-so-perfect skin.

As far as signs of aging go, I am really happy with the results I am getting from Crepe Erase. It has reduced the lines on my forehead, between my eyes, and also the side of my nose, and I just started using it in July of 2019. My face looks much smoother, but unfortunately, it did not get rid of my redness and clogged pores. Hence Curology!

At any rate, stay tuned, because I will be updating this post on my progress, and I am even going to show you before and after photos. Well, that’s if I get the nerve up to be that “raw” with my readers. I will let the results make that decision, but for now, I am on night one of my treatment plan.

Curology Day 1

It has been 24 hours since I applied Curology for the first time (Exact date I started was November 10, 2019). Obviously, I did not expect any results this soon, but considering that I have never used a prescription product on my face, I was concerned about redness, burning, etc.

I am happy to say that so far, I have had no side effects from using the product.

I will try to keep this post updated often, but will certainly report any changes, whether good or bad.

I will do a full review after using Curology for one month, so subscribe to my blog and be notified when updates occur.

Curology Day 5

For someone like me, (infatuated with details and somewhat of a perfectionist), I am not too happy with myself today. When you sign up for Curology, you get a treatment plan designed specifically for your skin type and problem areas.

The treatment is not just the product, it is the entire treatment plan, including:

When to apply Curology

    1. Cleanser (morning and evening)
    2. Curology Treatment (evening only for me)
    3. Sunscreen (morning)
    4. Moisturizer (evening)

How often to apply Curology Treatment

This is where things went wrong for me. Not terribly wrong, but proof that I should have read my treatment plan from A to Z. It specifically stated to begin gradually, and only apply the Curology cream M/W/F at the beginning, and then every other day after the 1st week (if my skin was tolerating it). Only once I am confident that my skin is tolerating it do I apply it every day.

Well… You can only guess what I have been doing for 5 days straight.

Yep, applying the Curology treatment every single night!

So when I washed with the cleanser this morning, I then put my sunscreen on AND IT BURNED LIKE HELL!

Only then did I go back and read my treatment plan to learn that I should have slowly introduced it to my skin.

I will give it a break for a couple of days and report back.

Morale of the story… ALWAYS READ THE DIRECTIONS!

Curology Day 10

I mentioned that on day 5, I discovered that I had been applying Curology incorrectly, at least for my specific treatment plan. I took 3 days off to let my face “cool down”. It never really looked red, but it did burn when I put my sunscreen on, so I decided to go ahead and skip a few days.

I have applied it for the past 2 nights, and I actually have something to report.

During those few days that I was not using it, something made my face break out on my right cheek. It was actually pretty strange for my skin. I do still get blackheads on my chin, and of course the clogged pores on and around my nose which was the reason I decided to try it to begin with, but for me to “break out”, I knew something was amiss.

My daughter reminded me that I was showing a comparison of 2 foundations, and one of them was old and I had never cleaned the pad that came with it. I truly believe now that it was the source for my breakout.

At any rate, after applying Curology again on the evening of day 8, I woke up the next morning and the breakout was almost non-existent.

I applied it again last night, November 19, 2019, and this was day 9 of my treatment, although I have only applied it 7 times.

I am going to use it again tonight, which will make it 3 nights in a row, and see how my skin feels in the morning. If I can continue to use it now without stinging, I will start applying it every day.

I’ll report back in a couple of days.
