I have tried so many products over the years in an attempt to slow the process of aging skin. Many of them I have shared with my readers, and for the most part, I had decent results. After all, most products will help your skin if you create a routine and stick to it, as long as the ingredients are there, it would be a hard sell to say that it wouldn’t make a difference in your skin. With that said, not all products are created equal, particularly when your skin is over 40. I know this first-hand as I have tried so many that I’ve lost count.

Here are Just Some of the Products Lines I have Tried Over the Years
Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford
I used Meaningful Beauty for years! You can read my review from 2017 here. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been that long! And you know what, I still love Meaningful Beauty, but I felt like my skin hit a wall. I don’t know how to explain it. It was like, ok, your skin plateau has been reached and that’s it. This is what your skin is going to look like from here on out. It wasn’t that my skin looked unhealthy, but the fine lines and wrinkles kept popping up and the products were no longer working to stop them. There are a couple of Meaningful Beauty products that I still use:
- The eye capsule serums. I use my regular eye cream at night (to be announced later in this post), but I think it’s a little thick for the daytime. I love the way the Meaningful Beauty capsules feel so I use them in the morning.
- The Meaningful Beauty Superfine Exfoliant is my all-time favorite exfoliant. It literally makes my face feel flawless. I only use it once or twice a week, but it’s worth paying a little extra for.
Crepe Erase by Jane Seymour
I also tried Crepe Erase, and honestly, I thought it was great too. In fact, I have the Crepe Erase eye capsules as well, so I still use that product from the Crepe Erase line. I do love the body products and I use the Body Smoothing Pre-Treatment and the Advanced Body Repair Treatment. Honest to goodness it makes my legs feel fabulous, but this post is about the face, and it needs some extra love if you know what I mean!
No7 Moisturizer
I never even wrote a review about this one because there wasn’t much to write about, and I didn’t use it long enough to give it a fair shake. It’s a moisturizer, that’s it. I didn’t do anything extra for my skin. I don’t even think I finished the first bottle.
Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair
Without a doubt, this is the best drugstore moisturizer I have ever used. Here is a link to my review of Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair. It’s included in a post that I wrote back in 2019 about the best drugstore anti-aging products. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced moisturizer that actually provides some results for aging skin, this would be my #1 recommendation.
Olay Regenerous
This is the first moisturizer I ever stuck with (that wasn’t for acne!). I started using it in my late 30s and I’m so thankful that I did. Who knows what my face would look like now had I waited?
I’m sure there are countless others. Heck, I could probably write a book about all of the moisturizers and skin care products I have used over the years but who has time for that? I’d rather just keep spending money on anti-aging products so I can share the results with you.
So, what is my all-time favorite?
JLo Beauty
ALL. DAY. LONG.
I know that people have mixed feelings about JLo. I often wonder why though. I mean, sure, she’s one of the most famous celebrities in the world. She’s beautiful. She’s super-rich. She’s probably a little conceited, but who wouldn’t be if they had the nickname ‘JLo’. I remember when I first started seeing her pre-launch videos for JLo Beauty, I thought, this is someone who doesn’t do anything half-assed. I mean, if JLo is going to put her name behind a skin-care line, I can’t imagine she would do it without the best scientists and skin-care gurus in the world.
Are we going to have JLo’s ‘glow’ or perfect skin by using her product line? Of course not. I’m sure her face doesn’t look the way it does because of her products. I mean, she literally just launched it last year. I still decided that I wanted to try it, you know because that’s what I do! So, I did try it out. I first ordered it in March of 2022. It is now October – 6 months after my first use. I have used it religiously every single day (minus the 5 days last week that I wrote about here – I’ll never do that again!) and I have to say that my face has never looked better. Here are the products I use on a daily basis:
Step 1. JLo Beauty That Hit Single Gel Cream Cleanser
When I first watched her wash her face, she followed up by wiping her face with a white face towel. There was literally no trace of makeup on the towel, and I remember thinking that it was a little far-fetched. Well, I quickly learned that it is real. It not only removes oil, dirt, and makeup from your skin, it removes your eye makeup too without any scrubbing or wiping. The end result is skin that feels clean, smooth, and hydrated without any tightness. I know it sounds like I could be a spokesperson for JLo beauty, but I’m just an everyday user.
How to Use That Hit Single
I put a little on my fingertips and massage it onto my face when it’s dry, then I add a little water and wash my face. I then just pat my face leaving it a little damp so I can apply the needle-less serum by DRMTLGY. *Note – before I cleanse my face, I use DRMTLGY’s Pre-Cleansing Oil – it helps to unclog any congested pores.
Step 2. That JLo Glow Serum
Once my needle-less serum has dried, I apply a couple of pumps of the glow serum all over my face, neck, and decollate area. I love the way it feels going on and it makes my skin feel smooth and silky.
Step 3. That Fresh Take Eye Cream
Again, I only use this eye cream at night, but once my glow serum has dried, I dab a little around my eyes and gently pat the skin under my eyes (this is the area that I am focused on).
Step 4. That Blockbuster Hydrating Cream
I am not shy when I apply this. I massage it upwards focusing on the chin area and my lower cheeks and jowls. It is almost like a mini-facelift. I can see my face plumping as I’m massaging it. There is no better feeling than seeing visible results upon application. Now, I don’t want anyone to misunderstand my excitement about this product. It does not make my skin look 10 years younger, but the long-term benefits of using it have made a huge difference in the appearance of my skin.
At first, I was only applying it at night because I thought it would be too thick under my makeup, but when I did try it in the morning, I realized how much smoother and firmer my face looked so I now use it twice a day.
It’s funny to look back at my skincare routine from 10 years ago and how it has progressed from one moisturizer to 6 steps (including the DRMTLGY products), but it is so worth it to me. I used to neglect my skin on so many nights before using JLo beauty, but now I can’t wait to wash my face and apply the serums, eye creams, and moisturizers.
These are not the only products I use on my skin, but they are the products that I would consider to be my everyday skincare routine.
Other Skin Care Products I Have Incorporated into My Routine
SBLA Sculpting Wands
I also use the SBLA sculpting wands, and the results from those have been significant. I am planning on doing a video review for this because you can literally watch as the fine lines disappear. The only con is that it is expensive, so to use it every day would be a little reckless. Knowing me though, I probably will begin using it more and more. In fact, I have been out of the facial wand and just received my new order yesterday. This would be the perfect time to do a before-and-after photo or video, so maybe I will do that this week.
Vitamin C Serum
I have not actually added this to my routine just yet. I did order and received the product, but I wanted to do a 24-hour test which is recommended anytime adding Vitamin C to your skincare routine. I will be posting a review about this at a later date.
